Even if it feels like 3/4, the DAW still shows 6/8. Is it really 3/4, or is it all just an illusion?
I really intended a 6/8 feel initially, but it ended up as 3/4. I guess it's not really a true alias, but I felt it was a happy accident and might just qualify to be misappropriated as the theme.
Not sure if I can make it or not, but I can share my mates entry which he made in the time frame to the theme. It’s his first time and he wants to partake in this Compo. Haha only kidding it’s me. It’s definitely new from me to a degree as I’ve stylised it as a DJ mix, but I didn’t actually mix using software, I made essentially 3 beats but transitioned to each one to simulate a DJ mix. 20 seconds of the first beat followed by 3 minutes of the rest and then 10 seconds of the last beat. The first beat is designed to be the end of the track and the third is the start. All techno style, all rhythmical with minimal melodies and all distorted. It’s different that’s what I’ll say. Enjoy!
Pixel scars in a bruised-up sky
I stole your face from a dead-end screen
You’re a ghost in my machine
We’re static claws in a feedback wail
Hiding hearts where the circuits fail
Every word’s a hack, every vow’s a glitch
Burning out in a digital ditch
In the blur, I still chase your shape
A borrowed face on a warped-out tape
Our aliases fray where the signals stall
Two lost souls where the airwaves fall
We’re moth-holed reels in a looping groan
Chasing ghosts where the air’s grown thin
Every touch is a smudge, every truth’s a veneer
Fading out where the edges smear
Borrowed faces, they twist in the rain
Carving your name on a windowpane
We’re warped cassettes in a basement’s chill
Scratching your voice where the tape stands still
In the blur, I still chase your shape
A borrowed face on a warped-out tape
Our aliases fray where the signals stall
Two lost souls where the airwaves fall
Love U All & Each!! :-)
